Subject: Attacks on a website.
Dear Madames/ Sirs .
I write on the site https://www.disability55.com/ which deals with the issue of people with disabilities, and was built on the wordpress.org system.
Recently (I am writing these words on Sunday, January 1, 2023) the access to my site is blocked again and again. After several inquiries with the site's hosting company, it became clear that the reason for the blocks is attacks on the site.
I would like to point out that I do not know who is attacking my site, and in any case, the last time the attack was of the type:
Hello,
Server had xmlrpc attack, we have managed to mitigate it now. kindly consider performing wordpress hardening.
This will resolve most of your future issues.
I will also state that I do not know how to protect a website from attacks - I do not have the professional knowledge to perform such actions.
And there is another difficulty: I live on a very low income (disability allowance from the National Insurance Institute) - and for this reason a high payment for website security is not possible for me.
Also every time I installed the wordfence pluginThis caused the paralysis of all website activity. In any case, I don't know how to configure the wordfence plugin.
My question in this regard is: What do you think can be done about it?
In any case, I am very careful about other website security rules, such as choosing a complex and hard-to-guess password and updating plugins whenever there is an update available (I can't do an automatic update because it might overwrite some of the settings of the loco translate plugin).
